Wonderful gathering on the Opening Night as suspense grew before the judges declared the winners in the 2022 Matthew Flinders Art Prize at The Bribie Island Community Arts Centre.
A clear crisp night saw a bright crowd of about 150 under the stars mingling in happy anticipation for announcements from judges Ron Bryant and Lyne Marshall.

Jean Bennett's beautiful jesmonite work "Nestled'' took first prize;

Pete Martin's "On the Road Sunrise'' was second.

Two Highly Commended went to Jacki Moon for her delicate ceramic titled "Tribal Fringe'' and

Todd Whisson for his painting "River Gums Kilcoy''.

BICAS Members prize went to Chris Bullock for his painting " Road to Red Beach''.
Come see the fantastic exhibition and vote in the People's Choice award. It's decided on July 31. Exhibition ends August 5.
